Graeme's Short Cut, December 2001
Home

After making our way around a point near Hollywood Crescent, we
discovered there was no simple way to continue. Donna insisted we turn back.

I decided that this would waste five valuable minutes of vacation time. The kids agreed. Donna said, "We're going back." One by one I began to guide the kids across.

Donna was last to traverse this long, slippery log that was bobbing up in down in six feet of frigid water. But we knew it would shave minutes off our return!

That's the log off in the distance. Next  we made our way around to the left and then up a damp rock wall. I carefully pushed Donny ahead of me. Elise enjoyed the squishy feeling of  wet feet...

Here's another shot of that wall. Once we got to the top we hopped a fence into someone's property.

We didn't have a machete to make our way through this brush, but managed to drive through it with only a few scratches!

Our clothes were filthy when we got home, but this gave Donna an added incentive to catch up on the laundry!
